The festival’s Regular Camping areas are the parts of the campsite where you can stay if you have a valid festival wristband and have not purchased Special Camping or been allocated a spot in Community Camping.
If you choose to stay in Regular Camping, you simply need to bring your tent and find a spot when you arrive.

We have two Regular Camping areas – one in East and one in West.
You can see the location of both areas on the map here.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that your entire camp can be placed together in Regular Camping. If you are a larger group wishing to stay together, we therefore encourage you to arrive as early as possible when the camping area opens, or consider whether Special Camping or Community Camping might be a better option for you.
If you arrive on Saturday 27 June and are unable to find a spot in the Regular Camping areas, you can contact our Camping Allocation booth, where staff can help you find space.

What rules apply in the area?

The rules for Regular Camping are as follows:

  • If you do not make proper use of the area or, for example, set up interconnected pavilions, you may be asked to remove any excess pavilions or move the tents closer together. Other guests may then be placed in the area.
  • For safety reasons, pavilions must not be placed in a way that makes it impossible to dismantle or remove them at short notice
  • It is not permitted to use tarpaulins or similar items to reserve additional space
  • Any form of open fire, including candles, oil lamps, and similar items, is prohibited
  • Camping or parking on emergency access roads is not permitted
  • You must comply with the festival’s sound policy. You can find it here: Sound Policy – Roskilde Festival
  • If you wish to bring a large sound system (larger than a Soundboks), you must apply for permission. More information about the rules and application process can be found here: Large Sound Systems – Roskilde Festival
  • All guests with a valid festival wristband are allowed to access the area
  • There are several items you are not allowed to bring into the camping area. You can find an overview of all prohibited items here: Prohibited items
  • When leaving the festival, your area must be cleared of all equipment and materials you have brought with you
  • You must follow the campsite hosts’ instructions regarding arrival, placement, behaviour, and departure
  • All festival camping areas close on Sunday 5 July at 12:00, and you must therefore leave the area before that time

In addition, all guests are expected to comply with the festival’s rules on conduct and safety, which can be found here

Why does it say that my Special Camping order is "unfulfilled" when I log into your webshop?

Your order appears as "unfulfilled" because your purchase has not yet been delivered. As long as you have received your order confirmation and your order has been paid for, you can therefore in general assume that everything is as it should be with your order, even if it says "unfulfilled".

Do I get assigned a specific space in advance or do I just have to run in and pick a place in the Get A Place area when I arrive?

You will be assigned a specific space in advance. You will receive an email with information about your location about a week before the beginning of the festival. It is very important that you use exactly that space, as it is a big puzzle to get the location of everyone to add up.
If you can't find your pitch when you arrive, you can ask the campsite hosts or the tower in the area for guidance.

Can I set up a pavilion in Get A Place?

You are welcome to set up the pavilion as long as you do not disturb others and do not block fire routes. You may set up one pavilion per Get A Place, but never more than two together - not even if you have several products. Party tents of all types are not permitted.

The camp hosts can always ask to have pavilions moved or taken down if they do not follow the safety rules.

  • Please note that the tents are placed close together in this area, and therefore we cannot guarantee that there will be space to set up a pavilion next to your tent. It is not allowed to set up pavilions on fire access roads or in ways that may inconvenience other guests
  • Anyone with a valid festival wristband may access the area
  • There are several items you are not allowed to bring into the camping area. You can find an overview of all prohibited items here: Prohibited items
  • Rent a Pitched Tent - Deluxe is located in a quiet area, and amplified sound must be limited to a level that can only be heard in and around your own tent
  • Upon departure, your area must be cleared of all personal equipment and materials you have brought with you
  • You must follow the instructions of the camping hosts regarding arrival, placement, behaviour, and departure
  • All festival camping areas close on Sunday, 5 July at 12:00, and you must have left the area by that time

In addition, all guests are expected to comply with the festival’s rules on conduct and safety, which can be found here

Why can't I see my Special Camping products in my Wallet?

Your Special Camping products (as well as other rental products, beer, cider and the like) are transferred to your Wallet in the Roskilde Festival app immediately before the festival. As long as you have received your order confirmation and your order has been paid, you can therefore in general assume that everything is as it should be with your order, even if your Wallet is empty.

Why are the Special Camping areas open to everyone?

We have assessed that there is no need to exclude anyone from camping areas and, therefore, do not wish to allocate resources to maintain access control. We also aim for a festival site that fosters and engages communities, without being divided into enclosed areas.

How do I purchase ReTent?

You can purchase ReTent through our webshop from 29 January at 10.00.
The price is DKK 1.300 per tent

You can see where ReTent is located on this map.

What is ReTent?

ReTent is built with a robust construction and no flapping tent fabric, providing a more stable and comfortable experience. The double-layer design helps create a more even climate inside the tent, and the solid structure makes ReTent more spacious than traditional tents.

  • Size: 210 x 200 x 130 cm – enough room for two people
  • Safe and robust construction
  • No flapping fabric
  • Lockable (you must bring your own lock with a diameter of approximately 5–8 mm and a standard or slightly extended shackle)
  • ReTent may not be taken home
  • Access to the showers in the Rent A Pitched Tent area is included with your ReTent purchase

How long is the tent reserved for me?

If you buy ReTent, the tent is reserved for you for the entire festival.

What should I do when I arrive?

When you arrive, please go to the reception in the Rent A Pitched Tent area to check in and collect wristbands for the hot showers.
After that, you can head down to the ReTent area and find your tent.

What should I do if the tent breaks?

If the tent breaks, contact the hosts in the reception in the Rent A Pitched Tent area. We will either repair it or put up a new one if it is uninhabitable.

Can I bring a pavilion to set up in the ReTent area?

The tents are relatively close in the area, and therefore we can't guarantee that there will be enough room to set up a pavilion next to the tent, as there is no space for pavilions at most of the tents.
We therefore recommend that you do not bring a pavilion from home, but that you instead arrive at the site without a pavilion, and rent a pavilion on the site, if there is space for setting up a pavilion next to your tent (without the pavilion disturbing the other guests or going onto the paths).

Are mattresses or similar items included in the tent rental?

No, the tent is empty. If you would like to avoid bringing your own mattress, you can rent a mattress via our webshop.

Access to the warm showers in the area is however included.

What should I do when I leave the area?

You must leave your ReTent neat and tidy, just as it was when you arrived.

How many products can I buy per order?

For ReTent, the maximum number is 10.

When will I be assigned my location?

You will receive an email with information about your exact location about a week before the start of the festival.

We make sure to place all products together if they are purchased on the same order. If you want to live together, but have not bought together, you can fill in our Camp Form no later than 27 May.
Please note that you must have purchased the same type of camping product in order to be placed together.

What rules apply in the area?

The rules for ReTent are as follows:

  • Any form of open fire, including candles, oil lamps, etc., is prohibited
  • Moving tents or setting up additional tents is not permitted
  • Please note that the tents are placed close together in this area, and therefore we cannot guarantee that there will be space to set up a pavilion next to your tent. It is not allowed to set up pavilions on fire access roads or in ways that may inconvenience other guests

How do I purchase Sleep-In Buses?

You can purchase Sleep-In Buses through our webshop from 29 January at 10.00.
The price is DKK 1.850 per bus.

You can see where Sleep-In Buses is located on this map.

How big a space do you get in Sleep-In Buses?

A bus is defined as a vehicle longer than 7.5 meters and with room for several guests. You are allowed to set up one awning per bus.
The total width of the bus and awning must be a maximum of 5 meters including everything.

Can I ensure that I get a space next to my friends who will also be staying in Sleep-In Buses?

The Sleep-In Buses area is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There are many rules about safety in the area, and therefore we cannot promise that you can get a space next to each other. If you make sure to arrive at the same time, the campsite hosts in the area will try to help.

What facilities are there in the Sleep-In Buses area?

  • There is access to a shower (for a fee) and a toilet.
  • You cannot empty the waste water tank from your bus.
  • You cannot get power to your device.

Can I bring a generator with me? And what do I do if I run out of power?

No. For safety reasons, you may not bring a generator to your Sleep-In Bus. The same applies to solar systems and the like.
If you only use lights and small electronic items, the electricity should not run out quickly.
You can bring extra batteries, camping lights on batteries etc. The festival also has solutions if you need to charge e.g. telephones or speaker batteries.

When do I need to leave the area?

The area closes on Sunday 6 July at 12.00, and you will therefore need to leave before that.

What is the difference between Caravan Camping and Sleep-in-buses?

Sleep-in buses are larger than a caravan and are, as the name suggests, a bus you sleep in - for example a former tour bus.

Do all passengers on my bus have to buy Sleep-In Buses to be able to spend the night on the bus?

No. When you buy Sleep-In Buses, you buy a space for your bus. You must therefore buy 1 Sleep-In Buses per bus and not 1 Sleep-In Buses per passenger.

Can everyone enter the area with a regular ticket?

Yes, everyone has access to the area. However, only those with a Sleep-In Buses ticket can set up camping equipment in the area.

When can I enter the area, and what should I do when I arrive?

It is not possible to enter the area or park your vehicle between 20:00 and 7:00, and it is not permitted to queue and wait until the next day. You should therefore aim to arrive before 20:00 or wait until the following day.

Once you have parked your bus, you must proceed to the Wristband Exchange at Entrance West to exchange your festival ticket for a wristband. Please note that you are not allowed to walk through the camping area before you have received your wristband, which means you must walk around the area to reach the wristband exchange.

Please note that parking or stopping at the entrances is not allowed. You must therefore walk to Entrance West to collect your wristband.

It is not possible to exchange your ticket for a wristband in the Sleep-In Buses area.

How many products can I buy per order?

3 pcs.

What rules apply in the area?

The rules for Sleep-In Buses are as follows:

  • A bus is defined as a vehicle longer than 7.5 metres and with seating for multiple guests
  • You may set up one awning per bus. The combined width of the bus and awning must not exceed 5 metres, including guy lines
  • Any use of open fire, including candles, oil lamps, etc., is strictly prohibited
  • Camping or parking on fire access roads is not permitted
  • You may not use any type of generator or loose solar panels in the area
  • Sleep‑In Buses is a quiet area, and amplified sound must be limited to a level that can only be heard in and around your own camping unit
  • Between 24:00 and 08:00, playing music or engaging in other noisy activities is not permitted
  • Upon departure, the area around your bus must be cleared of all personal equipment and materials you have brought with you
  • There are several items you are not allowed to bring into the camping area. You can find an overview of all prohibited items here: Prohibited items
  • It is your own responsibility to arrive, position, secure, and exit the site. If assistance is needed - for example, in case of getting stuck - this is at your own risk

You can see where Tenthouse is located on this map.

What is a Tenthouse?

As the name suggests, a Tenthouse is the perfect blend of a tent and a house. It has a proper floor raised off the ground and includes a mattress for two people (200 × 135 cm), a storage box (which can be locked if you bring your own lock), lighting, and a power outlet with 230 V.

Access to hot showers in the area is included in your Tenthouse purchase.

How big is a Tenthouse?

A Tenthouse is big enough for two people.

How big is the storage box?

The dimensions of the storage box are as follows:

  • Length: 180 cm

  • Height: 10 cm

  • Length: approx. 60 cm

The lock fitting on the box varies slightly from model to model, so we recommend that you bring a small padlock with a diameter of 3–4 mm.

Why can't I connect e.g. an electric kettle in the Tenthouse?

There are many Tenthouses that share the power supply. Therefore, you may only use the socket for connecting chargers for mobile phones etc., not for electric boilers and heaters. If you do that, the fuse goes off and the power goes out – not just in your own Tenthouse, but also in all the neighbours'.

The deposit has been introduced as an incentive to solve this on the way to a more sustainable festival, where we ensure the greatest possible recycling and responsibility for the camping equipment used during the festival. Non-refunded deposits are used towards the costs in connection with clean-up.

When will I get my deposit back?

We attempt to refund all deposits approx. one month after the festival. Please note that it may take longer if you have paid with a foreign card.

Will my deposit be refunded if I resell my Special Camping product?

The deposit is paid together with your product when you complete your order. You will get your deposit back if you sell your product on through Roskilde Festival. You can read more about resale here.

What happens to my deposit if I don't use my product?

If you do not use your product, your deposit will automatically be paid back to you approx. one month after the festival. Please note that it may take longer if you have paid with a foreign card.

Does the person who buys the product have to be the same person who gets the deposit back?

The deposit is returned as a refund on the original order to the payment card used for the purchase. It is therefore not possible to "resell/transfer" a deposit to others.

What happens to my deposit if I change banks or get a new payment card?

The deposit is automatically transferred to the payment card you used to complete your purchase. We cannot change which card or account the deposit is paid to.
