When do I need permission to bring recording equipment?
Professional cameras for still images may be used freely in the camping area, but as a new requirement you must have a sticker on your professional equipment in order to bring it onto the Festival Site (in Danish; Indre Plads). When applying for media accreditation, you must indicate whether you will be bringing a still camera- You will receive the stickers at Check In upon arrival.
If you wish to record live footage or audio on the Festival Site, you must use a different type of sticker. You receive the sticker by filling out an agreement (Live Footage Agreement) with Roskilde Festival before the festival.
Accredited people who need a Live Footage Agreement for audio and video recordings can find the agreement in People Pro under "Deadlines" when their accreditation is confirmed. Based on a signed agreement, the stickers will be handed out at Media Service when you arrive at the festival. Read more about Media Service here.
Please contact accreditation@roskilde-festival.dk regarding inquiries about recordings on and around stages. Recordings in the backstage areas of the stages must be agreed upon with the artist.
Recording equipment can be freely brought and used in the camping areas without a Live Footage Agreement and stickers.
Contact Media Service if you experience problems bringing cameras through the gates into the festival site.
How do I get permission to record the concerts?
All rights to record concerts – both image and sound – belong to the performing artist. You may not record concerts without written permission issued by the artist's management or the artist themselves.
If you have obtained such a permission yourself, you must send it to Roskilde Festival no later than June 15th. The permission should be sent to accreditation@roskilde-festival.dk.
Please note that record companies cannot issue this permission.
Do I need permission to take concert photos?
It is permitted to take photos almost everywhere (with relevant access stickers) at the festival without any special permission. Except in the front stage barrier (the photo pit). In special cases, we may request that professional equipment not be used in the first inner pit – this will only happen is it is a non-negotiable requirement from the artist. Permissions for concert photographs from the front barrier stages (photo pits) of Orange Stage and Arena are issued by Roskilde Festival to a limited number of professional photographers.
Can I fly/film with a drone near or over the festival area?
No, we do not allow this for safety reasons. Not even if the person responsible has a relevant education and experience.
How do I make interview arrangements with Roskilde Festival?

How do I make interview arrangements with the performing artists?
Roskilde Festival does not generally assist in making interview arrangements with artists. This must be agreed directly with the artist, usually via their management or record company. We recommend you request as soon as possible.
Can I use images from the festival's media library for my own publication?
You are welcome to use images from our media library that have been approved for editorial use. You can find the library on our website.
It is important to credit the photographer who appears on the material you wish to use.
