The camp site

The camp site is open from Saturday 28 June at 16.00 until Sunday 6 July at noon.

Entrance North, Entrance East, Entrance South and Entrance West are all open 24/7 throughout the festival. However, there are other opening times for receiving festival wristbands at the Wristband Exchange. You can see the opening times for the various Wristband Exchanges on the entrance map.

Special conditions for Caravan, Sleep-In Buses and MC Camping

If you have bought Special Camping for Caravans, Sleep-In Buses or MCs, you must enter through different entrances than the other festival guests. You can find out where your camping area is on the entrance map.

On Saturday, 28 June from 16.00 until 20.00 you can exchange your ticket for a festival wristband directly at the entrance to the Caravan Camping area and then access the area.
If you arrive on one of the following days, you can still check in your caravan between 8.00 and midnight – but after that you will need to go to Entrance West to exchange your ticket for a wristband.

The Caravan Camping areas close at noon on Sunday 6 July, just like the other parts of the camp site, and you must therefore leave the area before then.

The inner festival site

The festival site opens on Wednesday 2 July at 16:00.

Each day when the last concerts are over, we close the festival area for the night. We do this to make space for deliveries (beer, water, food, etc.) and for cleaning up. We will reopen the entrances at 10:00 the following morning.

There will be a lot of people gathering to enter the festival site when we open for Roskilde Festival on Saturday 28 June at 16:00. The Early Entry ticket is your chance to start the festival before everyone else and to find the best available spot for you and your camp. The ticket gives you the opportunity to arrive early and be among the first at this year's Roskilde Festival.

The first ones will be let in at 10:00 - six hours before the official opening.

You buy a ticket for a time slot. For example, if you buy an Early Entry ticket for the 10:00 time slot, you will be admitted between 10:00 and 10:30. The last time slot is at 15:30.

There are seven different types of Early Entry tickets

West, South, East, Caravan North, Caravan South, By train from Roskilde St. to Roskilde Festival station in West, By bus from Hillerød St. to Entrance East.

The Early Entry tickets can be purchased via our webshop from Thursday 8 May at 11.00.

NOTE: An Early Entry ticket does not guarantee that you will be able to find a spot for your camp in the regular camping area in West. However, we will make sure that all our participants can find a campsite at the festival. If you do not have Community Camping or Special Camping and there is no space available in West, you can contact the Camping Allocation booth or the campsite hosts for information on where you can alternatively find a space.
You can get an overview of the location of all entrances and Camping Allocation on the arrival map.

Can Early Entry tickets be shared?

One Early Entry ticket must be purchased per person.

If you are arriving at the festival together, you can easily buy Early Entry tickets for all your friends as well - however, it is important that you do not arrive separately, as the Early Entry tickets will be linked to your Wallet, and therefore only you can present the tickets.

Early Entry tickets can’t be transferred or resold to others.

Please note that if you have purchased Early Entry for Caravan Camping/Sleep-In Buses, only one Early Entry ticket must be purchased per Caravan/Bus and not an Early Entry ticket per person.

Is the train/bus included in the price?

If you have purchased Early Entry with Entrance Train Station, the train ticket from Roskilde Station to the festival site is included in the price. If you have purchased Early Entrance by bus from Hillerød, the bus journey from Hillerød is also included in the price.

Is the bridge between Camping East and Camping West open when Early Entry starts?

Yes, the bridge is open, and you will therefore be able to buy Early Entry to East or South, if you are planning to stay in West and vice versa.

What do you do if you didn't manage to get your hands on an Early Entry ticket?

If you did not get an Early Entry ticket, you can enter the festival grounds from 16 along with everyone else. Please note that it will not be possible to form a queue outside the area before the site opens, and that we therefore do not encourage you to arrive long before 16.

When do you have to be at the entrance in relation to the time period you have Early Entry for?

The time period for which you have purchased Early Entry indicates when you can enter. We recommend that you arrive immediately before the time slot starts, so that you can have your Early Entry ticket checked before your time slot.
You will not be let in before your time slot starts, so there is no reason to arrive long before the time slot.

Please note that if you have purchased Early Entry – Entrance Train Station, you must be at the train at Roskilde Station before it departs in order to enter the time slot for which you have ordered Early Entry.
You will not be able to arrive by train towards the festival site earlier than the train you have purchased Early Entry for.
If you miss the train, you bought Early Entry for, you will be able to travel with the next train instead if there is room for more people on it.

We encourage you to use some of the options for public transport. If you do come by car, there are different drop-off zones and different parking areas to choose from.

We recommend that you consult the entrance map to get an overview of which drop-off zone/parking area is closest to the camping area you will be staying in.

Drop-off zones

There are two drop-off zones where you can be dropped off if you arrive by car: Drop-Off West (between Darupvej and Gammelgårdsvej) and Drop-Off East (at Øde Hastrupvej).

It is not possible to be dropped off closer to the entrance.

Park n' Pay

There are four different paid parking areas near the festival: Park n' Pay Far West (at Darupvej and Gammelgårdsvej), Park n' Pay West (at Darupvej), Park n' Pay East (at Øde Hastrupvej) and Park n' Pay South (at Vor Frue Hovedgade). You can buy parking in one of the areas on our webshop from 8 May at 11.00.

It is also possible to purchase parking upon arrival in the area, provided that there are still available spaces.

You can buy both full festival- and one-day Park n' Pay tickets.

A one-day parking ticket is valid from 8.00 in the morning to 8.00 in the morning the following day. This means that if you e.g. have bought a one-day parking ticket for Friday 4 July, you can arrive on Friday morning at 8.00 and stay on the square until Saturday morning at 8.00.

The parking areas open on 28 June at 07.00. After that, the parking areas are open 24 hours a day throughout the festival until they close on Sunday 6 July at 15.00.

GreenMobility

In collaboration with GreenMobility, we have earmarked parking spaces for their environmentally friendly shared cars in our parking lots in Park N' Pay Far West (at Gammelgårdsvej), Drop-Off West (between Darupvej and Gammelgårdsvej) and north of Entrance North (at Bakkesvinget).

Disabled parking

You can use the special disabled parking spaces if you have a valid EU parking card. The card is issued by the Danish Disability Organizations and a number of similar organizations abroad. There are disabled parking spaces near all entrances.

Remember that the card is associated with the person, not the car.

How you find your spot when you arrive at Roskilde Festival depends on whether you have booked Special Camping, been allocated a spot in Community Camping, or expect to stay in our open camping area, Regular Camping.

Special Camping

If you have purchased a Special Camping product from our webshop, you will receive an email with information about your exact location approximately one week before the start of the festival. However, this does not apply to Caravan Camping, MC Camping, Sleep-In Buses or Get A Late Spot, where you will be allocated a spot upon arrival.
If you have purchased your Special Camping after 12 June, you will not receive an email with information about your spot, but you must instead contact the nearest tower when you arrive to be informed of your location.

Community Camping

If you have been accepted into one of the Community Camping areas, you will receive more information directly from the area where you will be staying.

Regular Camping

All of Camping East, Camping South and the upper part of Camping West are reserved for Community Camping and Special Camping, and you cannot freely find a place in one of the areas but must instead move to our Regular Camping area in West to find a place there.

Please note that it is not allowed to “reserve” extra space in the camping area (e.g. by using tarpaulins or similar).

If you arrive on Saturday, June 28t, and you cannot find a free space in West, you can contact our Camping Allocation booth, located in Camping East near the bridge to Camping West, where you can be directed to which area you can find a space in.
Camping Allocation is open all day and night on Saturday, 28 June. You can see its location on the entrance map.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself in advance with our rules regarding what items you are not allowed to bring into the camping area, so that you do not risk bringing something that will be rejected at the entrance or by the campsite hosts.
You can find an overview here.
