If you are from a country other than Denmark, you are very welcome to get involved and join our volunteer community. You must have permission to stay in Denmark to be a volunteer at the festival.
During the stay in Denmark - regardless of whether the stay requires a visa or not or is based on a residence permit - unpaid voluntary work can be carried out without applying for a work permit. The voluntary work must have a non-profit purpose, which must be stated in the organization's rules. Roskilde Festival is 100% non-profit - you can read more about that here.
Working unpaid means that you may not receive anything for your work in the form of salary or individual benefits. When volunteering at Roskilde Festival, you get access to the whole festival and catering in connection with your shifts, which are considered small benefits that enable your volunteering, and which apply to all volunteers. As long as you are legally in Denmark, you can therefore volunteer at Roskilde Festival.
If you are in doubt as to whether a person can legally go to Denmark and do voluntary work, you can contact the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI). You can also check whether your entry into Denmark requires a visa or not by contacting the website of the Danish embassy in your home country, where you can find information about visas.
If you have any questions about being an international volunteer at Roskilde Festival, you are welcome to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
